Regional Education Service Centers

There are 20 not-for-profit Regional Education Service Centers in Texas. Each one serves and supports a specific region. ESCs provide leadership, training, and technical assistance to school districts, parents, and other community stakeholders.

Each ESC has professionals who specialize in different areas of special education. These include preschool, autism, visual impairment, deafblindness, deaf education, assistive technology, evaluation, and more. You can contact these education specialists when you have questions about resources and programs in your local school district and community. They can give you personal attention as you navigate the often confusing world of special education.

Texas Education Agency provides a map so you can find the region number of the ESC that serves your area, along with their contact information. Using this information, contact your local education service center and ask to speak to the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Specialist or the Child Find Coordinator.

Some ESCs are responsible for specific Statewide Leadership projects. Many of these projects include online resources and training that can help parents become more effective advocates for their children, and their communities.
